Sorry to interject, but quotation marks (I prefer to call it that) actually DO go after the period, not before. It’s kind of a silly nitpick though so I don’t really care, plus the rules might be slightly different depending on whether you live in the US or not. But putting a period before the quotation marks isn’t wrong at all.
